Voice Over Virtual awarded three scholarships (full tuition) to the conference in a competition in which applicants were judged on merit and financial need. The scholarship was part of the VO Peeps Career Education Fund program, administered in collaboration with the LA/OC chapter of MCA-I (Media Communications Association – International).
Voice Over Virtual sponsored an innovative treasure hunt called The VOV Game on its first two days (September 18 and 19, 2013), designed to acquaint attendees as they explored the website in search of clues and hidden objects. About 20% of conference attendees at that time played the game, and the winner was selected in a random drawing of all players who found all hidden objects.
Voice Over Virtual has announced a $1,500 donation to The Voice Foundation, a leading organization in vocal health research, which has a record of awarding educational and research grants to recipients who have become the world’s leading scientists and voice clinicians. In recent years, Voice Foundation grants totaling $80,000 have served as seed grants for over $13 million in additional federal funding.
The conference donation was based on points accumulated by players of The VOV Game as they explored the website in search of clues and hidden objects.
